Is it true you loose some cutting/carving area with putting in the ATC. I think I can do it by hand if so. ---

I believe you need to temporarily remove the ATC if you have a project that exceeds the workspace … and yes, the ATC, by it’s very nature, will reduce the space available for the work piece. ---
