Hi I just changed my lap top to a new one and it keep shutting off my connection to my longmill does anyone have any ideas.It also totally disconnects when i plug in the power supply

Hello Fred, Welcome to the group
Ah laptops, you will need to read through your laptop manual and your operating system . The power mangement of the device and or your operating syetem wants to conserve power so pretty much the first thing it does is shut down the usb devices . If this is Windows it will go to sleep and none of these things are compatable with running a CNC and its micro controller and need to be shut off.
