Hi,
New installation, GControl on AltMill running 1.5.2 GSender. Shows USB connected GrblHAL, but status is Disconnected. I’ve tried 3 USB cables on 2 computers with fresh installations of GSender.
Bad USB port?
Thanks in advance.

Hey Mick,
I don’t have an altmill and have only looked at the various manuals sienci has provided. I have no actual knowledge of the machine, slb or anything beyond gsender 1.2.x
Well you’ve certainly ruled out pc and usb cable as being the culprit. At least you know now where to look.
I take you have looked at the section for connected but not connected in the g-sender troubleshoot docs?
It seems that you are left with point 4 of the solution list for this problem. I have never re-flashed my controller and I believe that it is recommended that if you are like me, its an undertaking that may included some exciting moments
So unless you are a flashing guru, it might be wise to seek assistance of the real siencitists via a ticked. I would, for that warning sounds scary.
You can file a ticket via this here form.
I hope you can resolve your issue soon, and are collecting wood chips in your hair shortly.
Thanks very much for the detailed reply. That’s pretty much where I am at this point. I’ve initiated a ticket and will wait to hear back from Sienci.
Thanks again.
@mick_s were you able to troubleshoot this problem, currently on the same boat, the resolution article indicates that the SLB needs to possibly be flashed but I am waiting on a reply from Sienci first as you are not supposed to complete this without first partnering with them.
Yes, Sienci sent me a new power supply.
gotcha,
I had been sifting through some of the threads and found that my pin connectors to the steppers had been wired incorrectly (green/purple) all flipped, I corrected this on all four harnesses, and it appeared to resolve the error codes in the consol for the motors, I went onto keep trouble shooting my dreaded disconnect in g-sender however, every time I reset I seemed to have a different issue, sometimes it connects to the USB sometimes it won’t. Left it alone overnight to give my brain a 5 min break. Get up this morning to keep troubleshooting what I can outside of flashing the SLB and the Motor errors have now returned…
might be on the same boat as you, waiting on a reply from Sienci now!
