MK1 Motors Locked and Smell coming from board

Hello, I’m hoping anyone here can help me out with this.

I’ve had the Mk1 30x30 for about 4 years and it’s always worked great. Only had to change out a few wheels over that time.
However, the past few months my motors started making noise while idle, they slowly got worse, and today when I sent power to it nothing but a knocking sound in all 4 motors, and a burning metal smell from the board. I had a extra brand new motor so I plugged it into the Y and it did the same knocking. Is my board cooked chat? Is there some kind of maintenance or troubleshooting I can do to the board?

I use Easel to send the gcode btw, not sure if that matters. The software reads the machine is connected but I could only get it to move a quarter inch or so on the Y axis.

@ohaverd Welcome to the group.

I deleted your duplicate post. There is no need to post your issue twice. If someone has an idea to help, they will reply. Otherwise, you can raise a support ticket with Sienci. They will be closed between Christmas and New Years.

Thanks, that was on accident :squinting_face_with_tongue:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but what you smelled was the magic smoke that leaked out.

Before you change out the board and hook your old motors to the new board, make sure to test the motors. They may be borked (sorry, technical term) too …..
