My first cut on my new Longmill

When I got home from work last night my Longmill had been delivered. Three hours of assembly later I had it all together. I really wanted to play with it today but had one of my grandkids over for the day and a 3 year old is not that into CNC’ing. Go figure. My solution was to make my test cut be something for him.

@alanbabb Very nice, Alan. I hope you don’t mind, but I rotated it so that we could all see the detail more easily.

That’s pretty good for a first cut. Like it and welcome aboard.

Its been a while since I got my Longmill. I did my first cut today. Its Vcarve on a pine. Looks nice, at least thats what I think. Opinions?

Very nice indeed! I need that dragon in my files.

@hobbyman That’s a fine looking dragon. :100:

Details, please. What bit, feeds and speeds?

Thanks for the encouragement.

It’s a carbide v bit 60 deg. Speed was at dial reading 5 on Makita router (don’t remember how much would that be). I was being a bit conservative as this was my first time cutting wood. Feed was around 700 mm. per minute. Used Artcam 2017.
Thanks for the encouraging words.
