Hello all. I received my closed-loop stepper motor kit I ordered. I have gone through the instructions on making the changes and they seem to be easy enough to follow. I will be making the change during the holidays when I am off work.
I am wondering if there is anything that I need to do on the software side. Do I need to change anything in Vcarve, or is it just plug and play?
I also have LED lights attached to the SLB. Is the voltage the same coming off the SLB-EXT, or do I need different LEDs? I looked through the AltMill section of the SLB-EXT, and I didn’t find anything on this.
I also have the spindle set up on my LongMill. Do I have to do anything with that and the SLB-EXT?
Congrats on getting the clsm upgrade kit and enjoy the install process. No changes to be made in your CAM/CAD software like Vcarve. Just run the macro to tweak your gSender settings and you are good to go. The SLB and SLB - EXT are the exact same except for their motor/motor drivers and power input voltage. So in other words, you should be good to go if you have your LED already setup on your SLB. Same with the spindle!
I just want to make sure I don’t have to set up the spindle in gSender. Since I already have the spindle set up in gSender I don’t need to have to re-set it up for the SLB-EXT. I just want to get my head around it.
