I was hoping this software would be easy for beginners and did not expect to get involved in a discussion on quantum computing - how can I be both ‘connected’ and ‘disconnected’ at the same time? My question is simple: Is the cat alive or dead?

@Philip461 Welcome to the group.
The title ‘Schrodinger’s connection’ certainly got my attention and it would seem that your CNC machine is a very peculiar state indeed. I think that your CNC is both connected and disconnected until you hit the jog button. It’s only then that the true state is revealed!
I’m assuming that the software is working as this post is pretty funny and in the General category instead of gSender’s. If that’s not the case and it’s not working let us know.

By the looks of it, it’s disconnected. What machine/controller are you running?
I see myself as a beginner too. I have been at it for a good 2 years, but there is so much to learn and things seldom come easy. Even scratching the surface takes a lot of looking into things, how others do it and cherrypick what you think you like.
There be monsters for there’s is much unmapped area to cover and only so much time.
I bet there is a quick solution to your problem, but a bit more info may come in handy to feed the brains lurking yonder.
