Gday all, a few years ago Scott made a series of videos where he made a guitar from scratch and I’m wondering if anyone else actually followed along and built it. Im following along and I’m doing the neck first while I wait for the parts to arrive. Anyway Im getting slightly different results than what Scott got, and I cant work out why. I’ve down loaded the model into onshape, exported it into the vcarve pro, added tabs, adjusted the limit plane to -1mm to get the truss rod pocket deep enough, drawn and made tool paths for reference holes, but, I get a different result when I do the 3D roughing pass. In mine the head gets carved down as expected but not down to the tab height. Nor do the sides of the neck get a plunge cut out at all. It’s like it’s just doing a surfacing pass of the top surface of the neck and head and doesn’t know it needs to cut the neck out of the stock. Does anyone have any ideas on what I have missed or what changes I need to make so that when I preview the 3d roughing tool path it actually starts to cut the neck out of the stock?
