I Have encountered an issue with the surfacing tool

I have zeroed the job on G55 co-ordinate offset.

Set the dimensions for the surfacing tool path ran the outline everything ok.

press run

machine then heads off to the zero co-ordinates for the G54 offset!

I checked the console for the G code commands

I have the following script

feeder G21

ok

feederG55

ok

feederG90 G0x0 y0

ok

g54

g21

g90

g0z3

etc……..

it seems to me that the surfacing tool is programmed to revert to G54 offset co-ordinates system!

I also have read with interest about reverting to G54 at the end of a job it has caused me grief

I have used cncjs and candle with Vectric toolpaths and there was no issue with the offset co-ordinate reverting to G54

Any comments

Cheers

Now that i can use the workspace selector, would be cool to have the choice to select G59 for surfacing. I tried to copy the code and make it a macro but it acts weird.

We’ll look at making the code run in your current WCS rather than G54 always.

Thanks as it would be useful to be able to use other coordinate systems

Cheers Charlie

This should be implemented now in newer Edge versions as well as the upcoming 1.6.0 main release! If not then feel free to open a new topic and let us know 👍
