As an alternative to jogging, I’d love to see an option in gControl where you could tap a location on the workspace display, then hit a “Go To” button and have the machine move to that X/Y position while keeping Z unchanged.
This would be especially useful on larger projects when you want to physically locate a spot on the material—for example, to determine where you can safely add a clamp or drive a hold-down screw.
You can accomplish this now by manually jogging the machine around, but on a larger workpiece it can be pretty cumbersome. Being able to simply tap a point on the workspace and send the machine there would make this much faster and easier.
@HonestKnifeCo Nice suggestion. I don’t know how easy it would be to implement in the current visualizer, which can be zoomed in, zoomed out and viewed from a different plane. You’d need the touch screen to be calibrated to the coordinates of the current visualizer view.
