Looks like Trump is fixing to apply tariffs to Canada again. After 9 weeks on the waiting list I may have to cancel my order…that just sucks!
Yes, the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), and according to the article that is not due to expire until next year. I can only hope and pray that nothing gets affected before it ships.
@beerbarrel The Canadian media is just reporting that he is simply cutting off the new trade talks. They don’t say anything about him applying any new tariffs.
I lifted this from Fox news " Trump said the administration will inform Canada within the “next seven day period” of what tariff it will pay to do business with the U.S". I really dont know what to believe from the media anymore. I sure hope you are right!
@beerbarrel If I were you, Tracy, I wouldn’t do anything knee-jerk. This could all change many times before your Alt Mill ships. I am confident that Sienci will keep on top of things.

Nope, they said they would let you know before they ship if there would be a tariff charge. I’ll wait until the day I get that notice to make a decision. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed. Not trying or anting to get in a political discussion. Just worried about my bottom line. I would hate to have to buy another brand of CNC machine that is lesser quality and more expensive that the Altmill!

Funny how this turmoil is having all these different effects. I am eagerly waiting for Canada to further implement and outline the economic agreement with the eu (CETA), so I can start shopping in euros around the maple nation. It would be nice to pay via ideal instead of having paypal siphoning on my purchases. Not being able to pay for my longmill because I don’t have and never will have a credit card almost was a deal breaker. Paypal was the lesser evil, but only because I realyrealyrealyrealyrealy wanted my mill.
I still think proxy shopping is something that must be somehow possible. You do need a not US tarrifed country to proxy to. Are there any left?
