Hobby CNC user about 20 months experience with standard sized Shapeoko 3. I like 3D carving with hardwoods like Maple and Cherry. I also make some things from T6 aluminium. I have engraved aluminium, slate, ceramic and glass with a laser running under Lightburn.

I am keen to learn many aspects of CNC work and with my machine adjusted so it is as rigid as I can make it, I have been able to machine my workpieces to a tolerance of ±0.001.

I am interested in new techniques and anything that will keep me occupied. I do not use my machine for business or to make money. It is purely a way of keeping me occupied since I have now retired from working life (post COVID-19 rules).
