Go for it!
I think I am a year out at least before I can justify doing it.
To be honest, im trying to think of a way to get it by the wife. Im open to suggestions!
“I am worth it” said VERY convincingly ![]()
Of course if you have a business plan where the ATC pays for itself, you can lead with that!
Jen, Im a retired old man. I just want it to get it…because im selfish I guess…I need to be real sneaky!
See the first line of my earlier reply
@beerbarrel Tell her the ATC is a safety feature to keep your fingers away from the spindle and very sharp end mills
Make her something(s) awesome and state that it cannot be done without the new bit change thing. The more awesome the thing(s) the softer she becomes.
Sell it by buying her.
Thanks for the suggestions….I think she is on to me though. Either way, tomorrow we go to the jewelry store. The ATC may cost me way more than I thought!
I ordered the 6 tool ATC because I’m spoiled at work with a Laguna machine.
Is it true you loose some cutting/carving area with putting in the ATC. I think I can do it by hand if so.
I bought my altmill to carve doors. How do you index doors with the atc installed?
I believe you need to temporarily remove the ATC if you have a project that exceeds the workspace … and yes, the ATC, by it’s very nature, will reduce the space available for the work piece.
Welp…I mad at the wife….going to the order page!
@beerbarrel sometimes spite is the best motivator
Mine is ordered! At least she wont know for a few month!
I figure I have a couple months before she is really mad….I can deal with it!
Easier to ask forgiveness then permission.
I like they way you think!
