Behind the Scenes of the 39"x52" Smaller AltMill CNC Idea | Sienci Labs

Hi all! Check out the latest from our engineering team! Ben is tinkering with a concept for a smaller version of our AltMill CNC (39"x52").

I want one! (Form submitted)

This is exactly the configuration I was hoping you would release. I have limited bench top (depth) space available. In the absence of this smaller AltMill, I am considering other manufacturers products. Please schedule a production release date ASAP.

I’d buy this today if it was available, perfect form factor for us space-challenged folks.

I like the concept. While I love my Longmill MK2 but I like the improvements the in hardware the Altmill has.

+1. Would preorder today.

I’d be interested if it had a 36” x 48” cutting area. Then I’d be able to keep the Vortex 4th axis installed at the rear of the machine, and wouldn’t have to keep installing it if i had to do a bigger job - like a 2-sided tiled cut off the back of the machine.

With the proposed 24” x 48” cutting area, I’m afraid I’d be tiling jobs more than I’d like to… and that would make each job have 2 more setups.

If you did go this route, and make smaller footprints available - would you also sell us just the needed parts to configure the smaller mill back to a full 48” x 48” Altmill ? If so, that would make the decision very easy, and we’d have a built-in upgrade path.

Looking forward to hear more about this ‘alternative’ Altmill !!
