Billiard Sign for friends pool room

I have an upcoming “open house” for the son of my friend. It will be used in his dedicated billiard area.

I threw together this 26” long sign using a scrap piece of 3/4” walnut veneered MDF. I first coat the board with a thin layer of UV curing hobby resin. It penetrates the grain and hardens in less than 5 minutes on a sunny day.

A thick vinyl contact paper is applied across the surface and the Advanced V-carve program was used to create the raised letters (.100 inch). The free version of Carbide Create was used and images were imported and sized using the “trace” function in Carbide Create V6

Flat black paint is used over the entire surface and the vinyl is peeled off when the paint is just “dry to the touch” to reveal the walnut veneered raised surface
