Can't jog machine with Super Long Board

BYW. I can’t post in the SupeLongBoard forum. I upgraded to the Super Long Board. It worked fine, except it would not jog in Gsender using any version above 1.2. I was able to surface my waste board. Then I was getting ready to cut my first job and the motors freeze up as soon as I turn it on. It makes a clunking sound and it won’t move when trying to jog in Gsender. I can’t turn them by hand. They free up as soon as I turn it off. I tried different versions of Gsender. So I reconnected with the old Long Board and it works fine. I even upgraded Gsender to the new Edge version. So what’s going on with the SLB? I guess I wasted $165 since it is almost a year old and only used once to surface my waste board.

@mrtepayne I don’t quite understand why you say that you can’t post in the SuperLongBoard forum. Your post is in the SuperLongBoard category. Can you explain what you are trying to do, please?
When you connect to the SLB, are you choosing grblHal for the connection? Post a screen cap of the connection that is giving you issue, please.

That’s funny that it is in this forum. I started here and new topic was greyed out and it said you can’t post here so I had to post it in other forum. I bought my Longmill MK2 before the SLB came out. I upgraded to the SLB as soon as it was available. I tried both of the firmwares. It did not make a difference. It won’t move. I guess I can hook the SLB back up and take some pics. I will clarify my previous post. The timeline from when I first connected the SLB was I bought it in April 2024 and just jogged the machine around to be sure it worked. It sat for close to a year before I surfaced to waste board with the SLB. Then it sat for a couple of months before I was going to cut my first test project when I found that it would no longer jog the machine so I couldn’t use it. I reconnected the old Longboard and it works fine.

@mrtepayne Are you still running gsender 1.2.2?

I am using the new Edge version with the old Longboard. I had to use version 1.2.2 when I had the SLB connected before it stopped working.

@mrtepayne I’m confused, so I will drop out of this. From my reading, 1.2.2 did not support grblHal.
I suggest that you open a support ticket with Sienci.

OK, so I’m not good at explaining things. When I upgraded to the newest version of Gsender, it shows 2 firmwares, grbl and grblHAL. Neither would work with the new SLB. That’s why only version 1.2.2 worked with the SLB. Then it stopped working at all. The grblHAL works fine in any version of Gsender with the old Longboard connected. Thanks for responding anyway.

@mrtepayne No worries. I’m sure that it’s just me. I understand that you are saying that grblHal works fine in any version of gSender with the old Longboard connected. Clearly, I am not understanding since the LongBoard will not run on gbrlHal. Only the SLB will run gbrlHal.
I’m sure that Sienci support will get you fixed up.

OK. Well, my bad. My old LB works in any version of Gsender with the default firmware. Thanks again for your help. I’m working on contacting Sienci now.

FYI. I finally figured out how to fix my SLB. I found the solution in troubleshooting tips on the Sienci website. I tried the reset command in the console of Gsender and that fixed it!!

@mrtepayne I’m glad to hear that, Timothy. Thanks very much for reporting back. I’ll close the topic as resolved.
