Close loop Upgrade and motors specifications

I have A somewhat customised cnc machine that at some point i’m looking to move to SLB-EXT and closed loop

currently it uses ldo-57sth86-3004a stepper motors, which can’t be upgraded so would have to swap out
the webshop currently list two variants of closed loop motors

57HYB76( NEMA 23 Closed-Loop Stepper Motor – 2NM | Sienci Labs )
and
57HYB112( NEMA 23 Closed-Loop Stepper Motor – 3NM | Sienci Labs )

i cant find much in the way of specs on these, does anyone know if published somewhere?

the 57HYB76 is slightly shorter and weaker and the 57HYB112 is 26mm longer and stronger (the ldo-57sth86 are ~2.5 Nm)

the 57HYB112 might work but there is the potential issue of increased size and weight

in anyone’s opinion are these more or less the same motors? as there appears to be a 2.5Nm version

thx for any help

The 2 Nm motor is used on the 4x4 Altmill for the X and Y movement. The 3Nm one is used on the 4x8 version for the 8ft. Y axis. Maybe that can give you idea on what appropriate use would be for.

@DavidB I wonder if the rack and pinion system on the 4x8 requires more torque than the ball screw system on the 4x4.

@fireblade What kind of specs are you looking for?

If I had to guess, based on the link you provided, I would think that the first number in the motor is the spacing between mounting holes and the second number is the length.

57HYB76: 57mm and 76mm

57HYB112: 57mm and 112mm

ldo-57sth86-3004a: 57mm and 86mm

Maybe you can confirm that 86mm with the stepper you have. The link you provided shows where that measurement would be.
