Custom VFD Instructions

Hi Guys,

Just got my Altmill 4x4 put together and running, except I did not get the Sienci Spindle kit.
I can’t seem to find any instructions on how to use an alternate/custom VFD via RS485.

I see here ( Firmware & Flashing - SuperLongBoard ) a reference to using several different drives (in the gSender Flashing section, step 7) but haven’t found any documentation tellimg me how to enable any of them.

  1. How did they get that listing of drives shown in that image?
  2. Is the VFD autodetected during installation? I haven’t actually connected the GS20 to the SLB yet …
  3. Can someone point me to anything that might help me get started?
  4. Is there documentation showing me how to use PWM or 0-10V? If so, where do I find that?

Thanks!

(Can’t wait to start playing with this thing - am really impressed with how well it is built and the exceptional documentation)

What spindle and VFD did you get? I have a Haunyang water cooled 2.2Kw.
I have selected the H100 (I think) in the spindle config, buad rate of 19,200. Also, if your VFD has RS485 you do not need to worry about the PWM stuff. There are some specific setting in your VFD to set it up for RS485 communications.

where did you “select” the drive?

What VFD do you have?

My bad! The correct spindle to select in Config is the Haunyang V1 - NOT the H-100 which is the Seinci spindle. Here is a screenshot of my config file. This 80 year old’s memory isn’t what it once was (like a lot of other things).
