Did this epoxy inlay for my wife based on a stained glass window she liked. Had a piece of cherry log that I milled to get a 9x9 plank then used Vcarve and longmill MK2 to pocket mill the voids for the colour epoxy fills then did a 30 degree vcarve to create a void for the black epoxy. Surface milled with a 22mm bit then mounted on my lathe to make it round and finish the edge.

That’s a nice effect!
Nicely done, Wilf! What I especially liked was that you used your CNC for the majority of the piece, then followed up with doing it on your lathe.
This is in steep contrast with CNCers who forego using their other woodworking tools and forge on with inefficient work methods.

Very nice effect.
I too experimented with glass-clear epoxy and transparent dyes, cutting a framework and then laying the frame onto a plate of glass for pouring to give a glossy surface to the resin.
Mounted in a door window, the door’s glass is ‘wavy’ hence the appearance but the ‘stained glass’ is super-high gloss without needing any polishing.
