Forum Maintenance and we're on CTV!

Hey @all,

I can see some people online right now so apologies on the disruption but I’ve just been doing some work today to get the Forum back healthy again. I’m going to have to shut it back down again one more time but hopefully it should be good again after that. Once it restarts, I might have a new announcement to make about the Forum that’s been a highly demanded and longstanding feature! TBD

In other news, Sienci got featured on CTV! It’s a great segment of our local news where they spend the time to highlight businesses in the area who contribute to making local products which is so cool to see being highlighted. Me and Andy have always been proud of the work we put in to keep things local which is why our whole team, support, and engineering all happen out of our office in Waterloo. We also do a lot of assembly and manufacturing in our space, and if not in our space then with other companies in a could hour radius of us. Check it out and let us know what you think!

All the best from the Sienci Team

I’ve gotten it working! So this is the new news:

Everyone on the Forum now has the ability to set their location if you’d like to be a part of a broader User Map

This is completely optional, and if you do enter your own address then please be mindful to not give your full street address unless you want to do it on purpose for your business or other use - you don’t know who’s online that you want to share that sort of information with.

Anyway, I’m very excited about this because, for anyone who chooses to be involved:

  1. New users to our community now have the option of finding others close to them to potentially reach out for help or in-person demos
  2. Users have the ability to create local groups for meetups or other events
  3. We get to see how many of us there are and where in the world we all come from!

How you set it up

  1. First, click the 3-lin menu at the top of the Forum and select ‘Users Map’
  2. Here, you’ll be able to see the full map of users on our Forum, as well as get the option to add your own by clicking ‘Update My Location’
  3. On your User Settings page, scroll to the bottom and type in your address (remember to keep it vague unless you want people knowing exactly where you live) and then choose from the list whichever result is what you’re looking for. After Saving Changes you should briefly see yourself appear on the map now too!

I hope the explanation makes sense to everyone. Try it out and let me know what you think - I hope it’s a fun things for others as much as it is for me.

Have a great night everyone!
Chris

It was a lot of fun going behind their back with that TV Spot! Took a little longer than I thought it would to get it going but the news guy sure did get it done quick once he got it in his hands! I was so thrilled when Chris told me that they contacted him!
