Gsender Surfacing pause before stepdown

Hello All,

I use the surfacing feature frequently to create a flat face on rough stock that is too large for my jointer. For this use, a pause before step down option would be super handy. I try to conservatively estimate the total depth I need to remove but am not always successful. This would allow me to set max depth to more than I need and stop the job when I have reached the low point on the stock.

That’s a unique idea :open_mouth:

Using a CNC as jointer or the feature?

The feature you proposed of having pauses on the layers

Another would be to repeat the last pass shifting z by x for those contours where my IRL stock was slightly thicker than my CAD stock. I have a DRO on my planer but hitting an accurate thickness on a DW735 can be challenging.
