I am upgrading my Longmill MK2 to the Super Longboard. Is there any problem with mounting it on the outside of the side rail?
Also, I understand the SLB uses grblHAL. Is this just a matter of choosing grblHAL as the post-processor in Vectric? Do I use the same version of gSender?

You can mount the SLB anywhere you like so long as it is clear of the gantries and the cables will reach the motors.
There is no grblHal post in VCarve. You continue to use either grbl inch or grbl mm.
You use the same version of gSender. As you’ve already realized, you will choose Hal as your connection.
Thanks for your response. All makes sense except for choosing Hal as my connection. Where would I make that choice?
@rhalicki I believe that the 1.5.x series of gSender default to Hal when it detects the SLB. If it does not, you will have the option of choosing Hal in the connection drop down.
