Awesome improvements! Cable management was a big issue for me. This includes the drag chains being ‘floppy’ and moving about. I would consider this improvement to be much more than a ‘minor’ upgrade and well worth the additional cost.
Well done!

Will there be a drawing or STL published for the motor cover?

Hey,

I’ve been on the wait list for 8 weeks. Will I be automatically upgraded to the mk2?

Thanks,

David

Very exciting update!
Question: Is there a 65mm router/spindle mount for the altmill?

Hey David,

Reading trhrough the blog I came accross this section. I think this answers your question.

You can upgrade but then you have to wait longer for your machine cause sienci will first ship out all remaining mk1 machines.

Can you clarify what this means, please?

Please note that changes to the SLB-EXT are expected to come near the middle of the AltMill MK2 batch. Both controllers are the same and are cross-compatible with each other.

I think the photograph is inbetween the answer and the part that invokes your question. The changes are on the housing. (A wee larger for easier cable management.)

If Trump goes thru with his 25% tariffs on Canadian imports next week what will that do the overall cost of the AltMill MK2?

This is what Sienci had to say about this topic late November 2024.

It essential states: “We don’t know yet, let’s see how it plays out.”

@Jens I have deleted your post, as you anticipated. That’s not to say that I didn’t agree with you. :grinning:

Thank you for the link. I had done a quick search and didn’t find anything on this matter.
Thanks again

To help out the community and as an upstanding Canadian, I would like to offer that, If you would like to purchase you machine at the Canadian price and have it shipped to me here in Canada, I would be willing to hold it for you all until you can get to Canada to pick it up in person. This way avoiding the possible tariffs. :sunglasses: :+1:
