This is a 3D carve from an online free .stl file. It is the King in a chess set.
I did this in VCarvePro as a 2-sided project. Wood is oak. Not a good wood for this but I had a scrap lying around and this was more about practising doing a 3D carve than in creating something to keep.
Dimensions are: 3 1/2" tall x about 1 1/4" in diameter.
Finish is just a fast spray of clear shellac.
I used a 1/4" DC for the roughing pass and a 1/4" tapered ball nose for the finishing pass.
All told, it took about 45 minutes.
