Laser Issues (again)

This is likely a rehash of previous questions on Laser installation but thos question seem to be closed so here goes…
To begin with I have an OG Onefinity Woodworker with a PWNCNC 80mm Spindle and Tech 7w and 44w lasers. I moved from he Openbuilds BlackBox to the SLB a few months ago. I was initially having issues getting the Spindle VFD to work properly so to get through the holidays I simply went with manually starting the Spindle and using a Laser on the Laser PWM output and all was working well.

Spent the last couple days working on getting the VFD working and I got there using the following settings (as recommended by PWNCNC):

$16 = 0 (All Off)
$30 = 24000
$31=6000
$395=MODVFD (Default Spindle)

With these settings, upon first connecting to the SLB the spindle defaults to MODVFD and it the controls on the Spindle panes work as expected. It starts and stops with the slider varying the RPM between 6000 and 24000. SO far so good.

Next went to reconnect my laser and yeah things stopped working. I set up the Laser as both Spindle 1 and Spindle 2 (just to see if it made a difference). The laser settings were as follows:

Spindle Settings
$511 = MODVFD (Spindle 1)
$512 = SLB_Laser (Spindle 2)
$513 = Disabled (Spindle 3)
Laser PWM Settings:
$730 = 1000.000 (Max Power)
$731 = 0.000 (Min Power)
$733 = 1000.0 (PWM Frequency)
$734 = 0.0 (PWM Off value)
$735 = 0.0 (PWM min value)
$736 100.0 (PWM max Value)
Note that these are the Laser PWM setting that were working prior to configuring the MODVFD option.

With SLB_LASER selected from the Spindles menu (as Spindle 2) with the above settings I get nothing from the Laser when using the Test Fire function on the Spindle/Laser panel. No output to the laser, no voltage change on the Laser output terminals and LED # 15 which should show PWM output does not light up. After trying to fire the Laser if I then change back to Spindle Mode and use the Spindles menu to go back to the MODVFD the Spindle menu options changes from “MODVFD” to “Default Spindle” and the Speed slider caps at 100 RPM. Clicking on the test run buttons to start the spindle does nothing in this scenario. I have to hard reset the box to get back to get the MODVFD functional again.

I can get the Laser to function by enabling PWM setting #9, but I end up with the same behavior when trying to go back to the MODVFD option (menu reads ‘Default Spindle and Speed slider extends only to 100 RPM and the spindle will not turn on.)

Clearly I have one or more setting incorrect. My head is swimming in a bit of confusion regarding the various settings combinations and I’m at a loss to figure it all out. I was pretty jazzed to get the VFD functional but no I’m nowhere with the laser. I have to figure there are plenty of individuals running VFD and lasers on the SLB so I’m getting pretty frustrated that I can’t get it to work. Any help would be appreciated

Update. Did a complete settings reset and it seems to be working today. Not completely confident but so far go good I guess…
