I have a Jtech laser on my altmill and cannot get the laser to fire. I am using gSender 1.5.7 I have watched the laser setup video on the technical manual for the SLB, I do see the red diode he mentions when the laser is commanded on but there is no voltage at the laser output plug with or without the laser plugged in. the wiring is correct as far as i can tell black wire going to the bottom port ( furthest from power switch) and red going to the middle port. not sure if it matters but the white LED to indicate the spindle does not turn on, but the spindle does turn on when in spindle mode.
@checkers Welcome to the group.

In settings, you have the following settings:
$395 = slb_spindle (0)
$511=slb_laser (7)
$730 = 1000
$731 = 0 -
In gSender config, you have turned on spindle/laser controls

When you open gS and connect, the spindle/laser setting will default to spindle. You should be able to slide that to laser, then select laser from the dropdown menu below that. If all is well, you should be able to click the test button and the laser will fire at the power and for the time you set.

If this is not what is happening, open console in gsender and verify that $32=1.
I turned on laser spindle controls, go to spindle/laser in the bottom right and select the laser option from the dropdown, and turn the toggle to laser. I just went back and verified the settings in the console that you described, they are correct and if I turn the laser on or test the laser I will get that red LED indicator described in the video, but no voltage at the laser output on the back of the SLB.
@checkers I seem to recall that I had to play with the $743 setting for my laser. With a previous module, I had to set it to 1 if I am remembering correctly. I currently have a Lasertree module and it is now set to 0. I think the settings are 0 t o 4, but don’t quote me. You may want to play with them. You need to power cycle the SLB for this setting to take effect.
that was it! changed $743 from 1 to 0 and now it is firing! thanks so much
@checkers I’m glad to hear it. I’ll close the thread. Have fun with your laser.
