@jpnharris jpnharristhanks for the pic that helps. It is how I have mine wired.

@TechMonkeyMatt You are mistaken about what those settings are. $31 is min = should be 0. $30 is max = some use 255. I use 1000. $32 is laser mode off and on = should be 1 when on, 0 when off.
@gwilki You are correct, I had the variables incorrect in my explanation not the software. I am using the gsender gui. I reset to values to your recommended and restarted long board. Laser comes on but will not turn off via software, will only turn off using the laser controller power button.
@TechMonkeyMatt Check the wiring. With $32 set to 0, the laser should never be on. With it set to 1, the laser should fire only when it is moving.
You are using a longboard, not an SLB, correct? Ensure that you are connecting by grbl, not grbl Hal.
@gwilki gwilkiverified wiring, laser only comes on when I hit test or on. Verified i am using grbl. And updated gsender to 1.5.5 today.
@TechMonkeyMatt I’m confused. (Normal for me.
) Previously, you said, “But I’m having issues that the laser comes on but doesn’t go off.” So, now that you have changed the settings, it does not stay on, correct?
With the settings correct, the laser will come on when you hit test. It will go off when the test is finished. It will not come on again until the laser is moving. That is the purposed of setting $32=1
@gwilki your are just as confused as me.attached image a video for clarification.
@TechMonkeyMatt The screen cap does not show the laser settings. Seeing them may help, but it’s as likely that it will not. I’m sorry, but I have taken this as far as my knowledge will take it. I’ve had a pwm 10w laser module for some years. It worked fine on my LM Mk1 on the LB and it works fine with the SLB. I don’t use gSender 1.5.5 so I cannot help you with that. I have 1.5.4 on a test Uno so I can see all the settings, but I can’t see what a laser would be doing.
It may not be a bad idea to contact Lasertree to see if they have any ideas.
@gwilki Thank you for the help
Thx for response & I apologize for my delayed follow-up. I now have the settings & laser worked once I figured out gSender (sort of). The process of elimination is a fine thing.
@JimBob9x tks much for reporting back. I’m glad that you have things working. Be sure to post your projects in the Show Off category.
