Jumping in on this as I am stuck with the same issue. Hooked mine up today, have not run the wires in the drag chain yet but figure I have 12-13’ of 22AWG between the SLB and the LED strip.

So.. since this discussion had caught my eye coupled with the fact that I just so had a BTF-LIGHTING 60-led WS2812B RGB strip lying around for a different project that I have not started yet, I figured I would give it a go. Not sure what I may have done wrong but not getting the expected results. In Firmware, set $665 (rail) firmware settings to 61 per instructions to include on-board LED (tried 60 as well) - Saved and Power Cycled the SLB each time. With ext 5V power connected to SLB the LED…

WS2812B LED strip control addressing issue?

Well this appears to be a cable length issue. Somewhere between 100mm 5m and 9m of cable this appears to stop working reliably. At 5m of cable this does reach through all of the drag chains on a 4ft x 4ft table and work ok. That’s what I get for testing with the rest of the length of cable I was using not cut down yet. It looks like the grblHAL code has some ability to change the brightness of the LEDs; would it be possible to expose this to gcode or a firmware setting? These 5050 packages are …

So I guess I will try to trim the length down and try again.

Considering this is a relatively short run (for LEDs), it seems like the data signal is weak out of the SLB.
