Longboard Noise , Humming and or buzzing

Hello All,

I,m a new be, with a new Altmill 4x4.

I have a few noise concerns. When i move the spindle on either the Y or X axis to their fullest extent the Longboard starts to hum or make a buzzing sound. If I jog back a few mm it will stop. also when the machine is not moving i can hear one or more motors humming! Is this normal? I haven,t found anything on the Sienci site about these. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

@Rayza I have never seen anyone mention buzzing from the SLB before but buzzing from the motors has been mentioned several times. It appears to be normal and related to the motor trying to keep its position. Jogging a bit seems to stop the buzzing. Or shutting off the SLB if not I’m use for an extended period.

If you’re concerned about either, raise a ticket with Sienci through their Contact Us page.

I will add that the aluminum extrusions are great for transmitting sounds. So what might sound like it’s coming from the SLB could actually be from the motors.
