I made up some clamps in Fusion 360 and completed my first semi successful batch. I had to stop mid way through to add some additional clamping. This was due to the corner not being held down enough and my taps got cut out. Its very satisfying just having that super thin skin of wood to peel away!!
@TMS4659 And you oriented them properly along the grain of the plywood’s face ply (assuming the face ply is not just a thin veneer)
I need to do some. I’m currently just using random scraps and none of them are the same size.
Id be happy to share the F3D file or I can try my hand at exporting a DXF if you would like this. Another benefit that I didnt think about is that I now have the clamp to use as a fixture in my setups. I probably wont do this unless I have a large complicated file.
Sure, I’d like a copy of the F3D file. Saves me from recreating it. Thanks!
Looks like google drive might be the best way to share it? let me know if there is a better option. Here ya go! Its batched out and I think theres a bunch of old setups in the manufacturing tab but look through the toolpaths. I find it helps me learn by seeing other projects but its rare I find woodworking cnc fusion files. Hopefully people on here will keep on sharing cool stuff!!
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time!
Im working on a desk and chair set for my kid now. Im figuring out tabs for assembling furniture on the chair and it will be awesome!! I been utilizing the parametric aspect of Fusion on my models too so its really easy to change them up.
I made my clamps out of 0.5” you might want to go a bit thicker, maybe 14mm because my clamps are deflecting and I cant get as much clamp pressure as I would like on bigger projects. Could be my cheap ply material too.
@TMS4659 Parametric design is great once you get the hang of it. Going from 2D work to 3D is a big learning curve though. But you don’t need to be an expert in Fusion to do some basic stuff. Learning how to properly plan your sketches is important. I’ve had to delete the history several times because I backed myself into a corner and couldn’t figure out how to fix a design issue.
LOL … I wish I could claim ‘several times’. Heck, even after probably 3 years, it still happens quite frequently.
Yes it seems like I do that on most projects. I also seem to have too many timeline features compared to when I look at experienced Fusion designs. I struggled a lot with manipulating models for CAM then I discovered Manufacturing models and how you can nest them onto a sheet without effecting your design model, BUT if you modify your design it will transfer to you manufacturing model. IE I put text on my kids desk and I can change the text in design and it will change the Man model, or I can edit the Man model and it will only change that model and leave the design alone. Im still figuring this out but it seems thats how it works
