The longmill only has ball bearing slides on the z-axis. Never clean those other than flushing them with some good olā wd40. The v-wheels ride on top (and underneeth) the axis with the upper one crushing wooddust into what I remember chewing gum to become after spending a year under your desk at school.
On the mill itās easily removed by rubbing/scraping a small piece of scrap wood held under a wee angle over the individual sides of the V. The underside does not accumulate gummy wood pulp.
The upper wheels can ride some serious filth though. I clean them because I am in the mood (noooot often) not because the machineās working is compromised by it.
I believe the longmill to not need much cleaning at all. Itās like a lawn mower. Looks, smells and sounds like shit, works perfectly as long as the cutters are sharp.
