Metric Longmill

I did sometime ago modify the Longmill design to suit metric aluminium angle (80x80x6 and 50x50x6) for a friend as imperial rails is not readily available in Europe. He resently assembled it without any problems.

The use of these metric angle rails resulted in modified designs for the X gantry plate, Y gantry plates and the front and back feet.

If someone is interested, I can share the drawings for the gantries and stl’s for the feet.

Thank you! That will be really helpful.

Sorry, took a bit longer. Could not upload dxf files.

For the plates 8mm steel was used.
The profiles were 80806 and 50506

Only the front and end feet have are different with the printed parts.

Correction:

80x80x6 and 50x50x6 profiles

Thts fantastic, thank you! :+1:

Hi,

Just realized. My friend used 6 mm plate for the laser cut plates, not 8 mm. Otherwise you will run into problems with the Z axis steel plate holder.

Original design uses 1/4". 6mm is .35 thinner, but works fine.

Good luck with it.
