Couple of quick questions here as I just did this upgrade:
Do I leave VFD on all the time ?
Do I still need to keep z motor energized to avoid spindle movement when not using ? I also recently installed the 1.5 Kw spindle.

@Bobi111956 Welcome to the party!
Do you that because your in the middle of job? I added the inductive sensors to my Mk1 and I always shut everything down and I set up gSender to lock the machine until I home at startup. The XYZ zeros are saved in the EEPROM so no need to reset those. It’s always been very accurate, at least for woodworking. I figure it saves power and wear on the motors and electronics if I shut them down. Your milleage may vary. ![]()
Thanks much Michael ! Just didn’t want weight of spindle to allow it to slide down, due to weight and drive last tool used into board. Was a warning when I bought spindle that was in the instructions due to weight
I see, Sienci doesn’t recommend putting a spindle on the Mk1 because it’s not as rigid so I didn’t know they recommended that. Just a thought but could you make some kind of stand that you could place in such a way that when the Z slides down the spindle mount would land on it and prevent the bit from touching the spoil board?
