This is 11x14 inches and was done with lightburn and Gsender. Jarvis, 254, 100, 100. It took 61/2 hours to complete. I should also mention that I used the 3 element lens on this one. I am not really fond of that lens though. It is really high with the focus of the lens and I see no noticealble difference from the g2 lens. The g7 and g8 are also very high with there focus range. I think the stock g2 lens that comes with the laser is the best choice for engraving. Also I have experimented greatly with trying to cut 1/4 inch ply, and I have had no sucess with that. I don’t know where the application is for the other lens that come with the add-on pkg.
This is the best laser project I have seen. An inspiration.
Pudster, Thanks much. Lots of R&D to get that…
That’s a really nice piece!
I don’t have the Sienci laser but on the topic of focus heights I like having some room between the laser and the work for using the Project onto 3d model feature in Vectric. I see a lot of lasers that are like 1-3mm off the surface because of the case/shroud. With a laser that close it would hit on any steep level changes.
I haven’t done a lot of the projecting onto 3d models but I like to have the option for shading or fine detail on a 3d carve.
Not sure if you use Vectric software at all. I prefer LB for most of my laser stuff but as far as I know it can’t do laser work on a 3d carve.
just a quick pointer. There are different lensen to use on the sienci beamer. Most of them have an impressive focal length, perfect for those 3d laser jobs you have in mind. I found that the G7 has the best focal range to have it burn a good range of depth before it is losing focus and stops burning. I however have stepped down a nudge to use the 3E.
