Motor overload question

Hi all! I’ve have my retirement CNC a little over 3 years. I may use it 20 hours per week. My most recent project has 5 hours of V carve text on it. Both yesterday and today, I got 4 hours and 40 minutes into the carve, and my left y axis motor stopped working, ruining the carve. After cooling off (both me and the motor) it worked fine again. Do NEMA 23 motors have a thermal overload? Does the hive feel it’s the motor? The control board? The connection? The wire? Any thoughts or help would be appreciated!

@Dan1 What model CNC do you have? If it involves v-wheels and anti-backlash nuts, if I were you, I would check to see if either of those components is too tight.
