@Parkey Lightburn is not subscription based. You buy the software. The licence is good forever. The licence key is valid for one year, during which you get free updates. After that, the software will still work fully.

Just an update to Michael. I found a laser driver board at AliExpress. It arrived today, I wired it up and it works brilliantly . Here’s a photo from the site.

i use this same one and it works nice
turns on my vac and router and shuts it off when job is done
easy to set up.
This is the place to be.
