I was wondering if anyone has made their gsender personalized so when it starts up it is under name instead of Sience name and profile. If you have how did you do it by chance ? I am not the smartest at computer stuff but come on we paid for this g-sender and cant get a profile in our names really ?
@Mark_R I’m guessing you’re talking about the gControl computer because gSender is free.
GControl is just a Windows system and although the default username is Sienci, you can create any local account you want. Google will tell you how to do that. If gSender wasn’t installed for all account profiles, you may need to reinstall it under the new profile.
Yes Sir that was what I was talking about. Most computers you buy you set up your own profile, least that’s been my experience. No other profile is on there. Can’t seem to figure out how to add one for me and take Sience off. Today I had my spindle cable get yanked out of the spindle when I hit z it dug it’s self in the spoil board, yes I have 4” under the spindle, the cable appears to have been over the stepper motor. Hopefully I can get a new cable it was ordered with the machine.
@Mark_R Count your blessings that it came preinstalled with a local user account. For Windows 11, Microsoft decided to become Big Brother. Going through the setup process on a new machine practically forces you to set up a Microsoft account on their servers. It’s very difficult to bypass that step if you’ve never done it. But since you now can login with a local account, you can easily create a new one.
As for the problem with the bit digging into your spoil board, consider setting a soft limit on your z so the endmill can’t go lower then the limit you set. You would change that limit for every bit. The default on the Altmill is 170mm I believe. Reduce that number when you use a long endmill.
