Hello from my shop to yours! We got us a new addition (well he has been here a few months now) to our family. This is Leo, the mini poodle. He was a “stud” for a responsible dog breeder and she was closing her business. My father in law thought he would be a good companion for him, but not so much. So instead of returning him, we ended up with him.
Of course he needed his own personalized raised dog bowls. So I dug around and found some scrap walnut and went to the big box store and got a couple of small bowls. There were a number of firsts in this project.
- I used my LongMill to cut out the bowel openings.
- I used an AI generated image of Leo to make it his.
- I used CA glue and tight bond 3 to assemble it. There are no fasteners in it.
- I used an oil based polyurethane over acrylic paint to finish it.
My bride showed it off and people are wondering how much. I need to source out some clear pine or maple to be able to price them competitively. After all, who needs walnut dog bowels? Well Leo the mini poodle of course!
I will share Callie’s story and her raised bowels when I get them completed.
Take care!
Jake
