I see the info in the SLB tech manual about the IoT relay connection for powering routers and vacs on and off. But it’s about upgrading from a Longboard on a Longmill. If this can work from scratch how do I do it? I see the external IoT’s that have what looks like a two wire pluggable PCB angle screw terminal.
@fshanno1 Welcome back, Frank. To clarify, you are using a Longboard, not an SLB? Correct?
I need to clarify. I’m looking to buy a Super Long Board to run an old Probotix Galaxy CNC. I’m not going to buy a spindle for a while if ever. So I’m wondering if you can wire an external IoT relay into the SLB.
Consider plugging your router into a switched outlet. I wired my longmill with a standard single pole light switch mounted to the front of my table and a junction box below the table to plug the router into. I found this to be a good solution. I sometimes use a diamond drag bit that requires the router to stay off and that allows that flexibility. I have another switch to manage the dust collection.
@jpnharris Have you read this?
I have but decided to go a different route. I prefer to control the router & dust collection separately from the CNC as I use them sometime together and sometimes independently, especially the dust collection.
@jpnharris Sorry about that, Jim. I meant that for @fshanno1 .
