SLB firmware settings for spindle

Hey gang,

I’m hitting some road blocks moving my spindle from own to modbus.
I’ve disabled the the PWM spindle settings,
And, correct me if I’m wrong but I have to set the modbus address to match what ever of G511, G512, G53, has the modvfd selected?
I get an error when I try and change any of those parameters, it says Unexpected value.

Are these parameters locked by another? Am I doing it wrong in the first place?

I’ve changed all other settings that I’ve been able to find in research and when I try to run the spindle.
When I try and run the M3 command, I get an error that the spindle speed has timed out, so I’m assuming it’s trying to communicate over the wrong connections

I’m having the exact error and can not fine a answer.

Where are you getting the error for unexpected value, is it on the VFD or in gSender? You’re right that if you’re getting Alarm 14 then it means the communication between the board and your VFD is not being established correctly

In gsender.
When I save the firmware setting it says it saves and also gives the error that the value is invalid. I think it was error 3.

does gSender save more detailed logs anywhere?

If you go to the ‘Calibrate’ tool, then click the button to generate a Diagnostic PDF, then it keeps a whole log of your current gSender session. If you can make this bug happen, then after that go to download the log, then post it here on the Forum, then I’ll be able to get a clearer understanding of why you’re seeing that error and what we could do to fix it

Does it start generating once I click diagnostic PDF? Or does it grab a certain time range before?

It starts generating once you click it, but to most accurately capture the potential issue you’re having it’d be best for you to set everything up, make the error happen again, then generate the diagnostic file immediately after that so it ensures I can see all your actions and conditions that’ve gone wrong :+1:
