I am so stoked as I continue to learn and use this great CNC. Here are a few photos showing my progress.
@William1 Damn fine work.
That looks awesome! Can you explain how the transition in the finish is done? Even just what the technique is called would help me to search for info on it. I really like it!
EDIT: I found some vids after searching with fade and gradient. I was using transition at first and all I could find was hard wood floor transitions. After watching someone do it I’m even more impressed!
Thank you Michael.
Yes it’s basically a fade out. When I spray I direct the nozzle toward the outer edge with a slight angle away. The spray pattern isn’t wide so I can control the width of the band of burst.
The outer darker color is a burnt Sienna with some van dyke brown. When the area in the inside is thinner than the outer edge, you begin to see the deeper red show up.
It’s a neat trick without using three colours, here I use just two, the inner orange amber and the outer sienna/van dyke mix.
It’s a learned technique for sure, but very satisfying when it turns out the way you want it too.
Thank you very much! The cnc opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
Check these videos out.
@William1 Very nice! Looks like you’re naturally good at this. Did you do the design from scratch?
