So finished my long mill not too long ago. A week or so. But before I started doing a lot of CNC work I wanted to cut down the noise, and dust. I had a smaller cnc before and did the same thing, and it really helped.
Sorry I could not back up far enough to get the entire enclosure. Made from poly carbonate(lexan).
I wish I would have taken Decibel meter readings with the enclosure entirely off. But with the enclosure door open and closed here is what I got Door open 88dB and door closed 78dB. I’m sure it was even louder with the enclose entirely off.
One last thing to do is add the dust collector in the back.
The enclosure is also great in case a bit breaks and goes flying or something else.
