Had to modify my dust hose support after getting the auto dust boot. Tried using the stepper motor cover version and it failed on the first run. I have been using the green dust hose support (not compatable with auto dust boot ) for my altmill for about a year now and has worked beautifully. No tension on the lower dust port. I have always used a magnetic hose adapter on the bottom half of the support so the shorter hose toward the work surface can easily be removed and replaced. Love the auto dust boot so far… thanks thanks for your innovation. If you are interested in the files for this let me know. Mounts with existing threaded holes on the back of the z gantry.

i designed and had a whole new dust collector system that attaches to my altmill. it doesn’t move with the spindle and is fixed vertically but you can adjust it. i use my altmill to make bowls and it was constantly destroying the sweeper brush because the brush was always moving up/down. jt attaches to the y axis plate with 10 small super strong magnets so comes off to change bits and has a 2" brush around the bit and an adapter i designed that is sort of rectaqngular on the bottom and transitions to a 4" boss for the collection hose. I don’t want to share umages of it because i’m sure someone would rip it off and make money off of it. here is an image of the hose adaptor..
