I use Vectric vcarve desktop with the vortex rotary axis. no problem creating and saving toolpaths using the grbl vortex rotary axis post processor. The resulting rotary profile cuts are impressive but my question is: he entire profile is created with the A axis rotation going between 0 and 360 degrees, back and forth down the x axis.
Is there a toggle somewhere that I can tell VCarve to just keep turning in one direction down the entire length, i.e. kind of what a lathe would do?
thanks for any help.

No, but there is a way to do it. I haven’t had a chance to try yet…It’s on my list of things to try.

Thanks for the link! I don’t think V carve Desktop supports Gadgets but I’ll go have a look.
Hey @jwebster,
Great question, @NeilFerreri is correct. There isn’t a toggle, but there is a way to do it. There is a plan to create some content around continuous carve and doing inlays on a curve.
Look for it in the coming months in the Let’s Make video series! (The 2nd video Let’s Make Thor’s Hammer is on it’s way!)
Cheers,
Stephen
