VistaCNC pendant

I am considering purchasing a VistaCNC pendant for my AltMill. It supports LinixCNC, so am wondering if it work with gSender? It looks like it is fixed firmware, so any changes would have to made in gSender.

Does anyone have any experience using it with gender?

Thanks

I made one of these from scratch to work with gSender (with selectable command maps to suite several popular sender apps). It’s in essence a ‘fake keyboard’ attached via USB, but reading a MPG jog dial and 6 buttons and from these sending appropriate ‘keyboard shortcuts’ to the host PC (or Mac in my case). These keyboard events are seen by gSender as if from the keyboard.
Not sure what Vista have done, but a Quick Look suggests they are outputting commands in LinuxCNC ‘format’ to a LinuxCNC pendant interface… not from my simple understanding likely to be gSender compatible. I don’t know for sure, maybe others can chip in with their knowledge.
I’d be happy to share my design and firmware, but to make one requires electronics assembly knowledge, the ability to programme an Arduino Nano, and of course making the housing it fits in.

I appreciate your feedback. I am not familiar with LinuxCNC, and thought it worked in the same manner as what you built for yourself. I would appreciate your sharing of what you have done. I should have the resources to build one.
