So I got my machine assembled about a week ago and last night I decided to get the vortex going on the Altmill I got the vortex assembled and everything, but I’m having trouble and I found the video where it talks about setting up closed loop steppers and had to do the wiring and then I got the quick video to get going on Everything works until I get to the point where I have to align the Y axis and it’s not completing and I’m getting these errors and I’m gonna post the error and a short video if anyone knows how to get this working please I would appreciate any help.
@LCPW The video does not show much so I may not have good advice. Plus, I don’t have an Altmill, but I’m betting that the process for finding Y0 is the same as on my SLB-connected Long Mill.
You need to start the process with the mill above the chuck and in about the centre in the Y direction. Be sure to have the banana plug inserted into the jack on the vortex. There is no test as there is on the touchplate. Also, be sure that you are in an X position where the bit will not touch the chuck jaws or the openings in the chuck for the jaws.
