Want to use my owen stepperdrivers

Hello,

i ordered the SLB a little to fast. My Steppers has there own drivers and i am in doubt how to conect. The stepper has there own powerwiring at 48 Volt, only need the signals from the SLB.

Is it possible to connect at the original output ore is there a bypass? Can something damaged on the SLB when connecting the signals to the internal driver?

Greetings Michael

Hi Michael,

I think this question is best asked via a ticket using the contact form in this page. Make sure to include what kind of steppers you have.

I would not burn my hands gambling on this question without being able to measure on the setup at hand. At sienci they might have a ready to go answer for you.

Thanks for reply, i found a video on YT where the cto Chris? is explaining the SLB. He says that external drivers can be used but not how to connect.

That might be, but I think it depends on what kind of steppers you are going to connect, to what kind of slb. If you have the incorrect steppers, you might need the other slb.

Hence you better connect with sienci directly with the question, and insert the steppers you have with the info.

I have looked a wee further into this. As far as I can see the slb-ext, the one shipled with the altmill can be used with external drivers but it seems that it is not yet sold seperate. The normal slb can not be used with external drivers.

So it seems you have bought a controller that will not do what you need.

I have no idea if returning with refund is an option, this too is better as,ed via a ticket.

Thank again, but that makes no sense to mee. On my working CNC Maschine i had a Masso Controller an this thing can control everything. Only want to refit my chinese 6040 for some operations in my workflow.

I think i am rid of this open source. Spend much money and time and nothing happend. Think i offered in Europe, dont want to risk damage to the controller ore my steppers.

Dissaponted but thanks for your help.

Greetings Michael
