@chapklc Welcome to the club, Kari. I have actually ridden through Morrison, Tennessee. It was more than 20 years ago. We ate great barbecue ribs in town. Thatās about all I can remember about it, though.
Donāt hesitate to ask questions and post pics of your projects.
@HarndenWoodworks - Welcome Phillip. Get ready as it will be there before you know it. Work bench to build, software to select and learn, questions to get answered, projects to plan and on and on. Seriously though if you have questions just ask. Please provide as much detail as possible so the group can accurately help you. You are joining a great and helpful bunch of people in addition to the great staff at Sienci.
Oh, Iāve been working toward a longmill for a long time. The goverment decided to drop some stimulus in our lap so Iām investing it back into my woodworking business.
Since I hit that order button I have been testing software and already have a chessboard/set, a 40th anniversary gift for my parents and sign for my garage-shop all ready to be sent to the machine.
Been waiting for this piece of equipment for a couple years now⦠Exciting addition for me.
Thanks for responding, I will doubtlessly have questions, but I hope to provide some unique projects for others as well.
I got things set up and seems to be working correctly. I downloaded the UGS software and I am running VCarve Pro. Problem is I donāt see UGS listed as a post processor in the VCP dropdown. Not sure Iām thinking about this correctly but thinking I need to save the code to the UGS program. Is there a particular file extension I need to save to?
@Ron.Wade Ron: In VCarvePro, choose either grbl in or grbl mm as your post processor. That will ensure that the gcode will run on your Mill. You can use UGS or any other gcode sender. The file extension will be .gcode using that post.
Iām from the middle of South Jersey. 40 miles from the Atlantic City casinos.
Retired 3 years ago and went wild on a basement wood shop. Knowing absolutely nothing about CNC I bought the LM used on a whim.
I am beyond impressed with the machine, the company/inventors & this forum.
Hey there Mike, Iām also from Hamilton. Have had my machine since the get-go. I trust you are enjoying it as much as we are! What type of projects are you working with?
@Virg Welcome aboard, Virgil. Itās a great group. Donāt hesitate to ask for help if you encounter issues, and be sure to post pics of your projects.
