3d Carve of Cross lines up incorrectly on G sender

Thanks Michael, that seemed to work for now. I still constantly get the Alarm 2 when verifying the G code before I carve. Not sure what firmware updates i need for X or Y travel to avoid this alarm. Maybe this is why i get these carving errors after 15 - 20 minutes into a carve then all goes south. Gouging & erratic behavior. Just destroying the carve, Very odd. I cant seem to it figure out. Wires look good all is tight. Anyway, one thing at a time. lol Thanks

You’re welcome. I have some more questions to try and help get the rest sorted out.

Where are you placing the work piece on your machine? I would avoid putting things at the edges of the machine if you can avoid it.

I know some people like to have a fence to help position their work, I don’t but if I did I wouldn’t put it at the extreme edge of the work area because sometimes the bit needs to go around the work not just above it.

Maybe you’re not putting the work next to the edge of work area but I thought I would throw this out there just in case.

Also in your original post you state the AltMill is back together so I’m wondering why it was apart? Was it an upgrade on something? You mention setting up VCarve the same way as in the past so I’m assuming the AltMill was working correctly before.

Seems like we are making some progress but randomly destroying carves 15-20 minutes in is not acceptable! Time and materials are too valuable for that!

Hey Michael thanks again. Just an update the material is usually clamped or double sided and placed about the middle of the work area. I don’t place anything that close to the corner. I don’t have fence set up. The Altmill after initially setting up and carving has always been erratic after carving a 3d model as i stated and usually 40-50 percent into a completed carve.

Then i heard a pop from the spindle and VFD. Like an electrical short. I then reached out to Sienci and they stated that it wasnt my fault and sent me a new VFD and spindle which I replaced.
So i did so and the problems seem to have escalated as discussed on this post.
Checked everything and get the error 2 as discussed . So its basically the same Z problem now that starts to cut fine, speeds and feeds look ok and then all of sudden destroys.

Thanks for clarifying things for me. Unfortunately it hasn’t led me to any new ideas for a fix.

If anything comes to mind I’ll post back but I’m stumped, at least for now.
