Not the best location for this question but probably close enough. Two quick AltMill questions:
The “Ultimate AltMill” build with drawers looks fantastic. Has anyone run across a scaled-down cut list/build for the 2x4?
There are some predrilled holes in Altmill legs. Would love to put some extruded aluminum rails (like 4040s) low on the legs to a) provide a shelf for storage and, b) provide additional torsional rigidity since these bars would help lock everything in. Has anyone done this? Curious if there are specific lengths to ensure top frame and bottom line up…or if I just need to marry up the bottom dimensions with the top.
I’ve not found a 2x4 scale down but the drawers aren’t quite full depth should be pretty easy to just figure out how much shorter to make them. I did have to re-do the front as the one in the files was for an older model, I believe I posted my files for it in the other thread
I did put a 2x4 across thee front and rear to help tie it together, I just measured the outside dimension on the top of the legs and the bottom and tried to make them plumb as well.
Thanks for this. Tried searching for your post regarding the corrected front geometry but couldn’t find it. Can you point me in the right dfirection? Thank you
If you download the easel file via file → Download → Download Project (zip) it’ll give you a zip file, expanding it you’ll find an svg with the cut outs.
